Hi, Kevin! Thanks for dropping by. I've seen some of the posts where you've talked about in work in the video space (tagging, searching, etc), and I think they'll be quantum leaps ahead when they arrive. It's just a very barren landscape out there right now for effectively consuming video and audio in faster-than-realtime playback.

I realize looking back that my post didn't come across quite the way I meant it to, and I'm going to have to expand and clarify a bit in a follow-up. My gripes are not with you, certainly, or what you're doing, nor with video per se, but with the lack of tools and the lack of effort on the part of a lot of producers.

Video is rich... perhaps too rich to make effective use of time if the viewer doesn't know what he / she is looking for. That's why I think some form of visual / audio search is key, and there is work being done in that area.

I'm personally doing all this out of my own time and money... perhaps I find it more fruitful than spending time on something that doesn't just benefits myself. I'm personally looking towards something more friendly with RSS readers... embedded flash videos aren't as accessible.

Hey, Chris. Playing with toys, pondering and musing, and getting into trouble are all playtime for me. I just wasn't smart enough to know you could make a living at it. :) That's doing it right, there!

To answer your question (or curiosity), I'm paid to help businesses understand their tech strategy. That includes playing with all the toys, pondering and musing, and getting into trouble. : )
